That Wasn't a State of the Union Speech
1/30/2010 8:13:34 AM
If you were so inclined to watch President Obama's first State of the Union Address, you know that it really wasn't a "state of the union" speech.  It looked, tasted, sound and felt like a campaign speech, with many of the same promises which will never be kept (thankfully!).

Some "news" commentators made some remarks after the gig, er, address, which will go down in infamy.  Especially Chris Matthews' comment that he forgot Obama was black.  We've immortalized that comment on a couple of shirts:

Be sure to stop by our Obama section to see more
Obama - or more specifically, anti-Obama - designs.  Or at our Elections 2010 section for designs related to the 2010 elections.
Join The Revolution!

The times, they are a changin'.  It used to be that only the liberals marched about and touted their causes in the public forum, at least loudly enough to be heard.  Conservatives would gather, but would sound more like a whimper.

That is changing.  Why?  Because people are tired of the federal government picking their pockets in broad daylight.  They want change.  Not the kind President Obama promised, but the opposite:  more liberty and less government intervention.  People are finally fed up with goverment killing the goose that lays the golden egg - the working class.  (That includes everyone who works, by the way!)  Sin taxes, gas taxes, death taxes, all of it.  The stimulus package and propsed mortgage bailouts are more than the people are willing to stomach.

Several weeks ago, Blurt Shirts introduced its
Revolution 2010 line. These shirts make blunt pronouncements on the members of Congress and what should be done with them. (Hint: Fire Them All!).  Response has been fantastic as folks are hopping on the Revolution 2010 bandwagon.  (Special thanks to Rani for the jump start.  If you haven't read her blog, you really should.)

The recent mess with the mortgage bailout has conservatives and freedom loving citizens taking a stand, a la the Boston Tea Party.
Conservatives are raising their voices in public forums across the U.S.   If you are against the current proposals from the Obama Administration and Congrss, Blurt Shirts strongly recommends that you join the tax revolution.  We are even introducing a design just for this occasion:

Party like it's 1773!

If you don't recognize the lyrical reference, don't worry.  Ask someone who listened to top 40 music in the mid-80s.  They'll know.

If you don't like what Congress is doing, you need to help change Congress.  These Tea Party events are a great way to join the fray and become active in changing the ruling-class culture of our federal politicians.

Revolution 2010!

The Jerk
2/10/2009 2:21:53 PM
It was only a matter of hours before the latest sleep-deprived, illness-induced creation from Blurt Shirt was released, with relevance.  Yesterday's Obama "press conference" was it, with a little extra tipping point from the Senate's passing of the political stimulation bill and subsequent "we know better than you do" attitude from the President and several members of Congress.

So, in tribute to "The One", here is a revised version of The Jerk:

We at Blurt Shirts haven't figured out whether to put this on a shirt or make it available as a poster.  If you would like it on a shirt, e-mail me at Rick@blurt-shirts.com, and let me know what type of shirt  (t-shirt, long-sleeve, sweatshirt, etc.), and I will make that shirt available at Blurt Shirts.

In the meantime, read the accompanying rant
here or here.

Introducing Revolution 2010 and Global Warming Lines
1/31/2009 3:53:24 PM
I was hoping it would happen, and it did.  Another person in the United States who was using the moniker Revolution 2010 has no problem with me using it for the shirts I wanted to offer.  So, thanks to Rani at the Coup d'etat, the line of designs originally labeled Solution 2010 have been renamed to what I originally want to call them...Revolution 2010!

I stumbled on Rani's blog, and knew that we were thinking along the same lines.  After corresponding through e-mail, I got approval to use the name
Revolution 2010.  I think it fits very well for what we both want...someone other than the big-box politicians in Congress.

Thanks again, Rani.

On top of that, three new Global Warming designs were added to the store today.  All three contain a nicely traced image of yours truly, resplendent in my sub-arctic gear, with the words "global warming" in green - what other color should be used? - and a nice quip to go along with each design.  Seeing how Al Gore keeps trying to give his talks in the consistenly worst weather conditions possible, how could I not offer these designs?
