New and Expanded Product Offerings
6/8/2009 9:33:51 PM

Effective immediately, Blurt Shirts has made many of its Lutheran and Revolution 2010 designs available on mugs.  Now, not only can you wear your thoughts, but you can let everyone see them as you walk around with your coffee cup at work.  What a conversation starter!  You want to help change things?  Let everyone know what you believe by letting them see it on your mug!

Our product line is also expanded so that all shirts are available for viewing in both men's and women's designs, as well as in children's designs where warranted.

Enjoy the improvements to the store.  Additional designs and products coming soon!

And So It Goes
5/31/2009 8:41:28 PM
So our beloved Cleveland Cavaliers didn't quite have enough to make it to the NBA Championship.  We still love them, and look forward to next year when expectations will be even higher than they were this year.  A little more height, weight and depth, and the Cavs should be able to run the table.

Thanks, Cavs, for a great season.  Here's to the excitement and anticipation of next year.

NBA Playoffs and Chldren in Training
4/18/2009 12:03:27 PM
At Blurt Shirts, we root for the home team.  During the spring, that means the Cleveland Indians (come on, guys, you can do better than that!) and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Unless you've lived under a rock and just crawled out, you know the Cavs have the best record in basketball, and clinched home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Blurt Shirts has a new design celebrating what we hope is the Cavs ultimate success - winning the NBA Championship.  This is a big deal for us Clevelanders and the transplants who now live around the country, so we are making this design
available on shirts, calendars, mouse pads, clocks and magnets.  Go Cavs!

Over the last two weeks, we have also added to our In Training line.  Primarily made for those budding artists, mathmeticians, and the like, we realize that those snarky teens and college kids may also buy these shirts for their friends who aren't so good at these activities.  In any event, these shirts make great gifts for children and for those adults who still consult with their inner child.  We will continue adding designs to this line until, well, we run out of ideas.

Changes to Blurt Shirts
4/11/2009 3:50:00 PM
Hello everyone,

First and foremost, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.  Although Blurt Shirts currently does not focus on holiday designs, the Blurt Shirts family participates in Holy Week activities and celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Our hope is that you would know, understand and celebrate with us.

Second, Blurt Shirts is expanding.  Along with our CafePress store, we are also expanding to Zazzle.    Both marketplaces offer non-exclusive licensing agreements, and Zazzle has a refined marketplace for working with Facebook while CafePress does not.  We are working to duplicate our designs at Zazzle, and the effort will probably take several weeks.

Third, we have reorganized the CafePress storefront.  Practically all political shirts have been moved under the Government/Politics section, and we have added to the Humor section.

Finally, we hope to see you at the various Tea Party protests taking place this Wednesday, April 15.  The cause is important, especially if you are a driven, self-sufficient American who wants a say in how much money they give to the Federal Government.

God Bless!

Humor, Ar! Ar!

There is more to life than politics, although our current round of civil servants may disagree with us.  We can actually enjoy life on our own, with out the help or hindrance of those in political power.  Why no laugh a little, and brighten someone else’s day in the process.  We love our country, and want everyone to be prosperous.

A good way to stay positive is to laugh at yourself and to laugh at the situations occurring around you.  Have a good laugh, then spread it around.  We’re all for everyone having a good time.

The Recession Blues

We here at Blurt Shirts hope that change is coming soon for the American economy.  Do we expect our beloved elected officials to make things better for us?  No, not really.  They can make it worse, but we don’t believe they will make it better.

Hence, it is up to us!  We know things can get better, so Blurt Shirts is taking this opportunity to poke a little fun at the current economic issue in the way that musicians know best: singing the blues!  When all else fails, wail, baby!  We invite you to join us as we laugh a little – just a little – about the current situation and do our best to help the economy turn things around.

The Never Ending Topic

You know that we at Blurt Shirts could do politics 24x7.  It’s just that easy, but it’s not our life.  But...if it is now unpatriotic to oppose the current regime, Blurt Shirts had to say something about it.  In our typical, sarcastic tone, Blurt Shirts released its growing line of “Dissent is Patriotic” shirts.  If you don’t read the shirts closely, you may misunderstand.  But that, again, is our subtle use of sarcasm to get the point across.

When people read your “Dissent is Patriotic” shirt, it should cause them to do a double take. That is when you'll know that the point is hitting home.

How Is Your Team Doing?

Many cities’ sports teams have winning traditions.  Just look at Boston, with the Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox.  Or Pittsburgh, with the Steelers.  Or Detroit, with the Red Wings.  Okay, maybe Detroit qualifies for the “championship exception”, since their other sports teams can’t find their own way to the field, diamond, or court.

Then there are other cities, whose teams just can’t get to the playoffs, or have an up-year followed by a down-year.  Others consistently have their hearts broken…year, after year, after year.  Blurt Shirts is based in one of those cities – Cleveland, OH.  We root for the home team, even if it kills us.  We brag about having the #1 pick in the draft, as though it is some high honor.  We hope and dream for that mid-year signing of some prima donna superstar, all for the eternally out of reach championship season.

Yes, we will continue to root for the home teams.  The Cavs might win it all for us Clevelanders.  Or they might just give us the next term for failure, following “The Drive”, “The Fumble”, “The Shot”, and “Red Right 88”.  But we will bleed our team’s colors, anyway.

How about you?  Give the gift of sarcasm...buy a new sports Blurt Shirt for a friend.

Vanilla Christianity

Bands.

Dancers.

Eloquent speakers.

No, I’m not talking about the Grammys or the Emmys.  I’m talking about emotional feel-good approaches that many congregations are taking to profess their faith.  You know, the ones who claim you’re not a Christian if you haven’t had a mountaintop experience?

Have no fear!  Confessional Lutherans must lead the most boring worship services in the whole world.  But they’re only boring if you are looking to be entertained.  If you are looking for law and gospel, grace and redemption, that’s a whole different story.

Our new For Lutherans Only shirts tell the story.  We think you’ll like them.

How Cold Is It?

Did you survive those snowstorms that ravaged a good bit of the country earlier this month?  Not only was it snowy, but it was extremely cold as well.  And news is that polar ice is increasing in volume.

Hmm…didn’t Al Gore say something about global warming?  With the number of professional skeptics growing, it’s kind of hard to believe it any more, if you believed it at all.

We at Blurt Shirts didn’t believe it anyway.  The hype was too much; the groupthink, way too prevalent.  We could have handled incremental improvements in things like emissions, living standards, etc., but this “carbon footprint” hypocrisy was just too funny to let it slip on by.  So enjoy the
new line of Global Warming shirts.  They’ll make sure you stay warm all year round, no matter where you live.

Join The Revolution!
2/23/2009 9:48:13 PM
The times, they are a changin'.  It used to be that only the liberals marched about and touted their causes in the public forum, at least loudly enough to be heard.  Conservatives would gather, but would sound more like a whimper.

That is changing.  Why?  Because people are tired of the federal government picking their pockets in broad daylight.  They want change.  Not the kind President Obama promised, but the opposite:  more liberty and less government intervention.  People are finally fed up with goverment killing the goose that lays the golden egg - the working class.  (That includes everyone who works, by the way!)  Sin taxes, gas taxes, death taxes, all of it.  The stimulus package and propsed mortgage bailouts are more than the people are willing to stomach.

Several weeks ago, Blurt Shirts introduced its
Revolution 2010 line. These shirts make blunt pronouncements on the members of Congress and what should be done with them. (Hint: Fire Them All!).  Response has been fantastic as folks are hopping on the Revolution 2010 bandwagon.  (Special thanks to Rani for the jump start.  If you haven't read her blog, you really should.)

The recent mess with the mortgage bailout has conservatives and freedom loving citizens taking a stand, a la the Boston Tea Party.
Conservatives are raising their voices in public forums across the U.S.   If you are against the current proposals from the Obama Administration and Congrss, Blurt Shirts strongly recommends that you join the tax revolution.  We are even introducing a design just for this occasion:

Party like it's 1773!

If you don't recognize the lyrical reference, don't worry.  Ask someone who listened to top 40 music in the mid-80s.  They'll know.

If you don't like what Congress is doing, you need to help change Congress.  These Tea Party events are a great way to join the fray and become active in changing the ruling-class culture of our federal politicians.

Revolution 2010!

The Jerk
2/10/2009 2:21:53 PM
It was only a matter of hours before the latest sleep-deprived, illness-induced creation from Blurt Shirt was released, with relevance.  Yesterday's Obama "press conference" was it, with a little extra tipping point from the Senate's passing of the political stimulation bill and subsequent "we know better than you do" attitude from the President and several members of Congress.

So, in tribute to "The One", here is a revised version of The Jerk:

We at Blurt Shirts haven't figured out whether to put this on a shirt or make it available as a poster.  If you would like it on a shirt, e-mail me at Rick@blurt-shirts.com, and let me know what type of shirt  (t-shirt, long-sleeve, sweatshirt, etc.), and I will make that shirt available at Blurt Shirts.

In the meantime, read the accompanying rant
here or here.
